Holiday Goodies

December 3, 2007

So, it’s officially December, therefore there will be at least 3 radio stations playing straight caroling all day and the monthly marathon of Christmas Movies can begin!

To truly delve into the Christmas spirit, you need to get pumped full of cheerful snowmen and never -ending Charlie Brown episodes. Here are a few to start your season off with tons of laughs with “lame, but tolerable” jokes.

Elf

Elf is one of the greatest, most annoying Christmas movies I have ever seen. Will Ferrell displays an unusually clean side of his humor that is so stupid, it’s funny. The movie would be completelyZooey Deschanel dismissed from my library had it not been for Zooey Deschanel and her gorgeous and incredibly unique voice. Her version of ‘Baby, it’s cold outside’ is the best one I’ve heard since the original in Neptune’s Daughter(1949) with Ricardo Montalban and Esther Williams.

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

Ah yes, if one ever dreams of one day receiving a cat for Christmas or has an intense rivalry with their neighbor about having the best light show ever, they must watch National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation at least once. Chevy Chase’s expressions are priceless, especially when he’s trying to get the attic stairs to cooperate. And there’s always Cousin Eddie, one can never forget his beautiful face. Just do your sense of humor a favor and watchRandy Quaid it this week. If that doesn’t get you in the spirit, I don’t know what will!
